Back to school means planning adventures for school holidays!

Congrats to all the families that have made it through the first few weeks of school.  I know my schedule has gotten exponentially busier since the summer break ended and school began.

I feel more like an Uber driver for my kid, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.  During those busy moments of running between scout meetings, band, and sports practice I like to dream about the school breaks and the adventures I have planned for my family.

Girls Trip to Kenya! Part 1

9/14/2022

Finally, after not knowing if another wave of the pandemic was going to shut down borders, we were in our business class seats on Kenya Airways leaving NYC and would be in Nairobi in 15 hours.  This is going to be the most epic girls’ trip ever to celebrate us surviving everything that COVID could throw at us.  And most of all we were going to have a break from our families who we had seen and been trapped with for a better part of a year.  We were going on a luxury safari and try to remember what life had been like before COVID.

Situated on a private quay between Cape Town's kid-friendly Victoria & Alfred Waterfront and the tranquil yacht marina with a breathtaking view of Table Mountain, Cape Grace Hotel could not be better located for a stay in town. The hotel feels like a walk-in storybook depicting South Africa and Cape Town’s heritage and cultural diversity: rare Cape Dutch antiques mixed with bespoke hand-painted fabrics, tapestries and ceramics by local artists, fashioning a delightfully unique hotel with contemporary style. The amazing staff and truly wonderful atmosphere, with carefully and thoroughly planned child-friendly details, made us immediately feel at home away from home.

Jock Safari Lodge: Creature Comforts in South Africa’s Krueger National Park

Jock Safari Lodge is the very first privately owned and operated concession in South Africa’s Krueger National Park (KNP). Located at the junction of the Mitomeni and Biyamiti rivers at the southern tip of KNP, Jock Safari Lodge is situated on 6,000 hectares (nearly 15,000 acres) in the pristine region of Bushveld, regarded as the best Big Five game viewing area in the park. Even better, it was built to the most stringent eco-management criteria in South Africa and is actively involved with numerous conservation and research projects regarding rare and endangered species.
From the moment we arrived, greeted with a welcome drink and cold towels, to the last game drive, we did not want our stay to end or to say goodbye to the amazing wildlife that we experienced.

FREE AT LAST!

Hello,
The primary definition of freedom is this: the state of being free or at liberty rather than in confinement. There's simply no better word in the English language — and there's no better news than what I'm about to share with you!

If you haven't already heard, cdc.gov recently stated that those who are fully vaccinated can travel safely within the U.S. and do not need to get tested before leaving the country unless the destination requires it. Further, vaccinated travelers no longer need to self-quarantine after international travel.

To celebrate this exciting announcement, I've compiled three incredible international destinations open to U.S. travelers. From Iceland to the Mediterranean consider this just a sample of destinations you can explore freely with safety and ease.

Where do you want to go? Get in touch and let's make plans! I can't wait to treat you to extraordinary travels with VIP privileges when you're ready to roam free.

Hello FUTURE TRAVELER!

Nothing is more satisfying than the excitement that accompanies exploring a foreign land. If this sentiment resonates with you, I have good news to share:  the world is preparing to travel again!

More exciting announcements are emerging from countries beginning to reopen to fully vaccinated travelers, and/or those who provide a negative PCR test (Greece, Iceland, and The Seychelles to name a few) — and this is only the beginning! Regulations vary from country to country, but a valid passport is always essential for international travel. I encourage you to check your passport's expiration date and contact me to discuss renewal options if it will expire before 2022.

Navigating The New CDC Travel Order In 2021 With Ease

Hello TRAVELER!

My top priority as a travel advisor is to help equip you with the knowledge you need to travel safely, comfortably, and confidently.

You may have heard that, beginning January 26th, a new CDC order requires that all travelers (over two years old) returning to the U.S. from any international destination provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test. Just as you would wear a mask and practice social distancing in public areas, this new requirement is another opportunity to bring peace of mind that you and those around you are healthy and safe.

The first family trip planned for 2021 will take us to Belize. We were looking for a one week trip for spring break that doesn’t required a long flight and that meets all the members of my family's requirements for an awesome vacation. I want to be close to beautiful beaches, my husband wants culture, and my daughter has to see animals. Belize  offers the perfect mix that will make us all happy. Mission accomplished!

Nihi Sumba: On the Edge of the Wilderness in Bali

1/25/2020

Introduction

When you arrive on Sumba from the hustle and bustle of Bali you realize you have stepped back in time to a nature lovers paradise, an untouched island with a sense of remoteness that is now a days hard to find. Sumba has one traffic light, several stunning waterfalls, blue lagoons, empty beaches, and lush valleys. The biggest surprise is its intact castes society and ancient animist religion that uses megalithic burial sites for funerals with expensive animal sacrifices. In case you ever wondered about the tall conical thatched roofs you encounter while visiting the local villages; they are meant to provide a space for ancestral spirits to reside in them. Nihi Sumba is a wonderful home to explore Sumba from.  Bring good insect repellent and a sense of adventure and even back home you will still feel the pull from Sumba in your heart.
