 We decided to relax a bit after all the adventures we had so far, and spent the rest of our trip at the Chiemsee in a beautiful Bavarian style hotel in Prien/Stock which is right next to a lake. Chiemsee is the largest lake in Bavaria with a beautiful mountain panorama as a backdrop.

 Next stop on our trip to Bavaria is Berchtesgaden a charming, postcard perfect town, located close to the Austrian border. It is an ideal base for a 2 day stop to experience the highlights in Southern Germany with children. You will have the change to experience the beautiful mountains, valleys, and glacier lakes in the Berchtesgaden National Park and hop across the border to Austria and visit Salzburg if you wish.
 This year I decided it was time to go on a mother daughter adventure to Bavaria. Why Bavaria? The food is amazing and will make every kid happy (our big hits Wienerschnitzel, Kaiserschmarrn and Apfelstrudel). There is a lot of nature to explore, castles to visit and lots of different lakes to jump into. We started our trip in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and stayed 3 nights, it was our home base where we set out to explore the surrounding area. |
