Now is a great time to start thinking about of where you'll be spending your spring break. If a week vacation to a location that is warm and has beautiful beaches sounds like the adventure you want to have then I recommend that you think of going to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. I spent some time is this ideal location so continue to read to find out why you should be booking a spring break adventure to Puerto Vallarta!
We decided to relax a bit after all the adventures we had so far, and spent the rest of our trip at the Chiemsee in a beautiful Bavarian style hotel in Prien/Stock which is right next to a lake. Chiemsee is the largest lake in Bavaria with a beautiful mountain panorama as a backdrop.
Why is the Chiemsee such a great place to finish a Bavaria trip? Next stop on our trip to Bavaria is Berchtesgaden a charming, postcard perfect town, located close to the Austrian border. It is an ideal base for a 2 day stop to experience the highlights in Southern Germany with children. You will have the change to experience the beautiful mountains, valleys, and glacier lakes in the Berchtesgaden National Park and hop across the border to Austria and visit Salzburg if you wish.
This year I decided it was time to go on a mother daughter adventure to Bavaria. Why Bavaria? The food is amazing and will make every kid happy (our big hits Wienerschnitzel, Kaiserschmarrn and Apfelstrudel). There is a lot of nature to explore, castles to visit and lots of different lakes to jump into. We started our trip in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and stayed 3 nights, it was our home base where we set out to explore the surrounding area. Congrats to all the families that have made it through the first few weeks of school. I know my schedule has gotten exponentially busier since the summer break ended and school began. I feel more like an Uber driver for my kid, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. During those busy moments of running between scout meetings, band, and sports practice I like to dream about the school breaks and the adventures I have planned for my family. Situated on a private quay between Cape Town's kid-friendly Victoria & Alfred Waterfront and the tranquil yacht marina with a breathtaking view of Table Mountain, Cape Grace Hotel could not be better located for a stay in town. The hotel feels like a walk-in storybook depicting South Africa and Cape Town’s heritage and cultural diversity: rare Cape Dutch antiques mixed with bespoke hand-painted fabrics, tapestries and ceramics by local artists, fashioning a delightfully unique hotel with contemporary style. The amazing staff and truly wonderful atmosphere, with carefully and thoroughly planned child-friendly details, made us immediately feel at home away from home.
Jock Safari Lodge is the very first privately owned and operated concession in South Africa’s Krueger National Park (KNP). Located at the junction of the Mitomeni and Biyamiti rivers at the southern tip of KNP, Jock Safari Lodge is situated on 6,000 hectares (nearly 15,000 acres) in the pristine region of Bushveld, regarded as the best Big Five game viewing area in the park. Even better, it was built to the most stringent eco-management criteria in South Africa and is actively involved with numerous conservation and research projects regarding rare and endangered species. From the moment we arrived, greeted with a welcome drink and cold towels, to the last game drive, we did not want our stay to end or to say goodbye to the amazing wildlife that we experienced. The first family trip planned for 2021 will take us to Belize. We were looking for a one week trip for spring break that doesn’t required a long flight and that meets all the members of my family's requirements for an awesome vacation. I want to be close to beautiful beaches, my husband wants culture, and my daughter has to see animals. Belize offers the perfect mix that will make us all happy. Mission accomplished! |
